When you think of God, what is the first image that comes into your mind? Do you picture an old man with a stern face and creased brow looking down on you from up above just waiting to teach you a lesson? Do you see the holy and righteous king of all creation, sitting on His heavenly throne, dispassionately meting out justice for mankind's evil deeds? What DO you see? Jesus' reply to Philip's request recorded in John 14:8 was a paradigm-shifting statement for the dis- ciples and remains the same for us today: "He who has seen me has seen the Father." In this one phrase, Jesus revealed the true nature of the Father as seen in the miracles He performed and the compassion with which He lived while on earth. As you listen, your mind will be transformed by realizing the truth about your Father in Heaven: His true nature is exactly what Jesus represented on earth. Then you too will be able to say that in seeing Jesus, you have seen the Father!
